In the South, we’re starting to see those delicious Plant City, Florida strawberries show up in grocery stores.  For us, it’s the first peek at spring and being that we’ve seen snow in lower Alabama twice this year, I’m ready for it! I’ve already bought 5 or 6 quarts and I can say that they seem especially sweet this year.
Did you know that a cup of strawberries is only about 55 calories?  I’ll be honest, my favorite way to east strawberries it to slice them, sprinkle them with a little sugar, and drizzle a little lime juice over them.  Yum!

Stacey. I live just a few miles away from Plant City, in Lakeland FL. The Strawberry Festival will start in a few days and will run for two weeks. We go to it just for the strawberry shortcake.
